What will IVF really cost you?
Itemized all-in prices where clinics publish them. Honest, labeled estimates where they don't. Plus how people like you actually paid.
National: 533 clinics across the US - the full CDC 2022 census roster plus verified new openings. Every number is linked to its source and the day we checked it; rows not yet re-verified are labeled.

IVF is a bundle, not a menu
Nobody buys genetic testing by itself. PGT, medications, ICSI, freezing, storage - they all stack onto one IVF cycle, and every clinic bundles them differently. One clinic's "cycle price" includes monitoring, anesthesia and a year of storage; another's excludes all of it. PGT often arrives as two bills: the biopsy at the clinic and the analysis at an outside genetics lab.
That is why you won't find PGT as a standalone search here. It appears where it belongs: as an add-on line inside each clinic's IVF price, with what's included, what's missing, and the source for every number. This follows what patients actually go through - see the journey map and what patients say in their own words.
The story behind The Fertility Index
A tool born from our own journey, so money is never the reason someone doesn't get to have a child.
Our story
We were off by $20,000. We read everything, asked everyone, and budgeted carefully. The real number still showed up piece by piece, after we were already committed.
Not because one clinic lied to us. Because nobody ever shows you the full number. A price for the cycle here, the medication there, the lab, the genetic testing, the storage - each one arrives at a different time, from a different place, after you've already committed. You don't get to plan. You get to react.
When we tried to compare clinics, it got worse. Every site shows you success rates and smiling photos. Almost none show you what they charge, what their lab does, or what's actually included. The information exists. It's just scattered, vague, or behind a phone call.
And when we looked for someone objective to help us - not selling us anything, just on our side - we couldn't find them.
We were lucky. Our daughter is here. But I kept thinking about everyone still in it, making the biggest decisions of their lives with the least information.
So I built the thing we needed and couldn't find.
What is The Fertility Index
The Fertility Index is a free, independent site that does three things.
It shows what treatment really costs, clinic by clinic - every clinic in the US, itemized prices where they publish them, an honest "not published" where they don't. It covers the costs around IVF too - medication, genetic testing, labs, storage - because that's where the surprise $20,000 lives. And every number carries its source and the day it was checked, so you can trust it or verify it yourself.
It's built on what patients actually say. Before writing a line of code, I did very comprehensive research into what people going through fertility treatment struggle with most - hundreds of real patient stories, read one by one. Cost comes up again and again, and people who pay out of pocket talk about price more than anything else. They ask the same questions we asked. This site exists to answer them.
It doesn't replace your doctor and gives no medical or financial advice. It helps you walk into the clinic already knowing the numbers - so the conversation starts on your terms.
Your journey is private. No account needed. No ads. Ever.
The mission
Everyone who wants a child deserves the best possible care - and a fair shot at affording it. Today, too often, the obstacle isn't medicine. It's money, and not knowing - about costs, about clinics, about what actually works.
No one should have to do this alone. Patients help each other every day - in forums, in waiting rooms, in late-night searches - with choices, tips, and hard-won lessons. This site is my contribution to that community. If you have a story, a tip, or a number we got wrong, I want to hear it.
